You decide to go ahead with Arthus because why not? Everyone's going to be turned into undead anyway. 

As you go through the city with Arthus killing hordes of infected people and zombies, all your mage spells gradually come back to you.

Then you come up to a shop. The sight of this particular place causes such an intense sense of vertigo that you nearly fall over.

You walk inside and see a man who looks very much like you

Then it hits you

This guy is you

All your memories come back

You are an undead mage of Dalaran

This person is who you use to be before your undeath

You were once a citizen of Stratholme

It is then that Arthus comes in
